MONDAY, 4 DECEMBER 1826, Bristol Mercury 1912,
Friday, Capt CHAWORTH of 10th Hussars, went at an early hour to his father’s estate at Annesley-Notts, intending to enjoy the diversion of shooting. In the absence of the gamekeeper, he proceeded to the wood, unaccompanied by anyone who could point out where the spring-guns were set, and trod upon one of the wires; the shot from the gun struck him in the thigh, but the wound, fortunately, is of a slight nature.

CHURCH MISSIONARY SOCIETY – On Sunday last, the 24th inst, after a sermon in the parish church of Annesley-Notts by the Rev Rd. Howard FRIZELL, incumbent, the sum of €21.5.9 was obtained in aid of the funds of the above valuable institution.

DEATH : September 8th, at his seat, Annersley-park Notts, aged 72, John MUSTERS Esq, husband of Lord BYRON’s “Mary”. Mr MUSTERS married Miss CHAWORTH in 1806, and had by her eight children. He is succeeded by his grandson, a boy thirteen years of age.

MARRIAGE : On 7th inst, at Northrepps, by the Rev. P. LAW – Philip HAMOND Esq of Annesley Park-Notts, to Richenda, daughter of the late Sir T. FOWELL BUXTON Bart of Northrepps Hall, Norfolk.
WEDNESDAY, 12 AUGUST 1857, Derby Mercury 3421,
BRITISH AND FOREIGN BIBLE SOCIETY – A meeting of the friends of this Society was held on the evening of Monday the 27th ult in the Church School-room at Annesley-Notts; Jno Chaworth MUSTERS Esq in the chair. The meeting was addressed by the Chairman, and by the Rev. R.H. FRIZELL, Incumbent of the parish, and also y the Rev Messrs WRIGHT and BRAY, and by Mr G. WINGFIELD, with a donation from Philip HAMOND Esq of Annesley Park to aid in the bible distribution at home and abroad.

THE GRANDON OF LORD BYRON’S “MARY” – There were last week rejoicings in the villages of Edwalton, Colwick, Annesley &c (Notts) to celebrate the coming of age of Mr John Chaworth MUSTERS, the grandson of Lord Byron’s “Mary”. An address was presented to Mr CHAWORTH.
MONDAY, 9 FEBRUARY 1863, Leeds Mercury 7746,
DESPERATE POACHING AFFRAY – During the night of Friday last, a most violent affray between game watchers and poachers occurred on land at Annesley Notts belonging to Mr J.C. MUSTERS. Four keepers endeavoured to apprehend a gang of poachers, about a dozen in number, formidably armed with bludgeons. Considerable violence was used on both sides, with the keepers retreating after half-an-hour, being overpowered and outnumbered. Jabez GILSTHORPE, one of the poachers, was apprehended and was brought before the Magistrates at Shire Hall Nottingham. The keepers were so seriously injured as to be unable to leave their beds. The case was remanded until Wednesday next.
