This was one of the years of flooding in and around Nottinghamshire and our village did not escape the river that is on the out skirts of Aslockton very near Whatton in the vale: is the river Smite which burst its banks.

These girl guides seem tpo love getting there feet wet here we are having come from the station into the village.

Main st outside St Thomas`s

Water every where the church gate is visable as a reflection in the water across the road is the wall of the Manor House Orchard.

Manor Garden duck pond

Even the geese are enjoying the new pond which has formed in the Manor house yard and looks like its moving time for the geese.

Best way to get around

Two of the local residents have found an easy way to not get there feet wet, We look back into the village main street not much is sturring.
