Babbington, Nottinghamshire

Babbington, August 17th 1900

My mother told me this story on the day that the steam engine was striped down and cleaned which was every Monday morning, at swingate near Windmill farm, The hot water was saved and sent down a pipe to Babbington.

at Babbington the women seemed to congregate at this local spot with thier tubs and buckets to do the weekly washing of there clothing because the water was still so hot.
