Blacksmiths cottage we see the blacksmiths shop with its road entrance amd double doors, the Smith here in 1861 was William Holmes from Kilburn Derbys with his wife Mary, employing three men one being Levi Hopkin, 33, and Charles Winfield 13, James Hopkin 13 as apprentices.

Here we are looking into the names of Blacksmiths in Bilborough years of 1871, Samual Cordon 42, farmer & Blacksmith born Trowell, and James Hopkin 33, Bilborough, also we have John Godber 25,from Stapleford last but not least John Mogg 19, apprentice blacksmith from Sutton Grandby.

Here we are looking into the names of Blacksmiths in Bilborough years of 1881, ther are no Blacksmiths mentioned but there is a "Smiths striker" William Rayner 42. and a "Wheelright" Thomas Heald 56. There is also a very substancial change in individual families names.

I can also remember noticing these cabins" workmans huts" when the large council estate of Bilborough was about to be built these are at the top of wigman road,, opposite the meadow.

Looking across the meadow I see concrete pipes that look as though they are going to pipe divert the stream away from this field so that they are able to biuld on it , this picture taken in 1953 just as they were biulding the housing estate.
