Burtons Farm with John Burton leaning on the gate looking across the scrub meadow to the top of what’s now Wigman road possibly watching his children playing in the grass with there dog. In years to come what will be here as the boundaries of the city were getting ever closer.

Another image of the farm with two ladies chatting outside on a misty morning in February this could be Mrs Burton taking time out of her work to talk with one of the neighbours?.

Opposite side of the road from martins road, looking back there has been many changes since 1920, gone is the large outbuilding and many of the old cottages also the Tithe barn and dovecote in there place new dwellings as the city bounders get nearer.

I can remember in the 1950s a hall ? building that they used to use for meetings cubs, scouts and a detention center by Probation Dept, this building was just after the Blacksmiths garden wall ended just back from the walkway on the right.

The Elms or Orchard cottage this was the cottage that is set back from the road today it is hidden by trees once the home of the Dean family it was visible until they built the new Police station and all the trees were planted it is now a very secluded place.
