Bramcote, Nottinghamshire

Bramcote, August 8th 1897

The picture of Town Street, the road through to Derby was at the cross roads a little way down, being the main road through Bramcote it had a shops, School and the Inn called the White Lion.

Picture of the Inn and Cottages at the top of the small hill leading from the Derby Road, buildings were built very is close to the road, that you seem to step almost onto the road, the children appear out of no-where to get in the picture.

View of the White Lion plus the cottages next door with thier small front gardens, looks like someone has left his gig outside or ask the children to look after it.

Alms Houses Town Street

Alms houses on the corner of Town Street and Cow Lane, these were erected by Frances Jane Longdon in 1852, opposite you will find the sunken church and grounds.

Looking back towards the island they call Bramcote island on the A52, again a view of the White Lion and town street.
